Music on the Mill Summer Concert Series – August 6 – September 3

Come out and enjoy live music every Saturday evening 5:00 p. m. – 7:00 p. m. from August 6 – September 3 at River Mill Park in Historic Occoquan, opening on 7/30/16. Concerts are free, so bring a blanket and lawn chair to sit back relax and enjoy an evening of family fun on the Occoquan River.

 Paint and Plant Nites at Ornery Brewing Company – Every Tuesday

Hosted by Paint Nite DC, sip on craft beer and explore your artistic side in the biergarten at Ornery Brewing Company in Woodbridge, VA. All supplies are provided, just show up and drink up! On August 16, you can make a tropical terrarium in a jar at a special Plant Nite that will take the place of the weekly paint night.

 Historic Downtown Manassas Summer Sounds Concert Series– June – September

From Latin Irish Fusion to Bluegrass and Jazz, the Historic Downtown Manassas Summer sounds concerts are sure to elevate your next evening out. Rain or shine, these free concerts are held under the Harris Pavilion every other Saturday of the month running through the end of September at 6:30pm. Bring chairs, blankets and a picnic to enjoy with your friends and family.

 Drink Craft Beer for a Cause at Bad Wolf Brewing Co. – August 12 – 13

August is craft beer month in Virginia and what better way to celebrate than to drink beer for a cause! Bad Wolf Brewing Company in Historic Downtown Manassas will host two charity events this month. On August 12, from 6:00 – 10:00 p. m., 10% of all beer sales will be donated to the Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance. On August 13, from 5:00 -9:00 p. m., the Tree of Life Cat Rescue will host a fundraiser including silent auctions, raffles, and adoptable cats and kittens!

 Prince William County Fair – August 12 – 20

Experience the largest County Fair in the state of Virginia. The event includes livestock exhibits, home arts exhibits, tractor pulls, a rodeo, demolition derbies, baby contests and a variety of live music. Spend an afternoon or evening out enjoying games, carnival rides and funnel cakes.

 The National Park Service Turns 100!—August 25

Celebrate the National Parks Centennial with a fee-free day at all national parks! Take a hike through the Civil War Battlefields at Manassas National Battlefield Park or plan a hike and pack a picnic lunch to explore Northern Virginia’s best kept secret, Prince William Forest Park.

 Civil War Weekend – August 26 – 28

Immerse yourself in history during Civil War Weekend at the Manassas Museum. Learn about life during the Civil War, see firearm demonstrations, living history, music and more!  Taste a variety of Virginia Bourbons and BBQ while learning about Jackson’s Raid on Manassas Junction. A unique experience that will transport you back in time and engage all of your senses.

 Music at the Marina at Leesylvania State Park – August 27

Watch the sunset over the Potomac River while enjoying live music with your friends and family at Leesylvania State Park on August 27 at 7:00 p. m. Music at the Marina is a free event that anyone can attend.  Bring your blanket and chairs to soak up the local sounds of summer.

 6th Annual Bands, Brews & Barbeque – September 10

Historic Downtown Manassas will hold its 6th Annual Bands, Brews, and Barbecue Festival on September 10, 2016 from 12:00 to 6:00 p. m. This ticketed event features award winning craft beers for sampling from breweries like Tin Cannon and BadWolf along with some Northern Virginia’s best barbecue and live music.

Farm Aid – September 17

Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young, Dave Mathews, and many more artists will be celebrating and supporting local farmers at Farm Aid 2016 at Jiffy Lube Live on September 17. Farm Aid is a non-profit organization whose mission is to keep family farmers on the land. Meet the local farmers in your community, taste the homegrown products they have to offer, while listening to world class music.

 4th Annual Brentsville Bluegrass Festival – September 17 – 18

There is nothing quite like enjoying good food and music on a perfect Fall day.  Spend the afternoon mixing a bit of history with local food and music at the Brentsville Bluegrass Festival.  Offering a variety of games and an antique car show too, there will be fun for the entire family.

 Taste of Prince William – September 24

 Occoquan Fall Arts and Crafts Show— September 24 – 25

The Occoquan Fall Arts and Crafts Show, hosted semi-annually by The Town of Occoquan, is the premiere festival on the east coast for craft enthusiasts of all ages.  Stroll along the riverfront walkway, take in the fall foliage, and peruse the numerous craft vendors and artisans that line the main streets of Historic Occoquan.

 Prince William Half Marathon – September 25
