This Sunday, 150 area seniors took Woodbridge District Supervisor Frank Principi up on his invitation to eat, dance and be merry at the annual Senior Holiday Dinner at the Woodbridge Senior Center. Now in its 28th year, it has become a tradition for the Woodbridge Supervisor to host the festive event.

Staff from Principi’s office and the center turned the dining area into a winter wonderland. Kenny Johnson’s crooning brought guests to the dance floor, and Kitchen Gourmet provided the holiday spread complete with ham, turkey and mashed potatoes. PWL Leftovers went to Meals on Wheels, along with holiday goody bags put together by B.J. Johnson, Principi’s executive assistant. Elm Street Development, HarbourView Event Center, Walmart, Shoppers Food Warehouse, other businesses and private donors provided raffle prizes.

“For some seniors, the holidays can be a lonely time, particularly if they have lost a spouse or are far from family. This event is an opportunity for them to socialize and get in the holiday spirit,” says Principi. “I look forward to the Holiday Dinner each year. This has become a real tradition in Woodbridge.”
