Story: MAN OF LA MANCHA is a play-within-a-play, based on Miguel de Cervantes’ Don Quixote. The story takes place a time when Cervantes ran afoul of the Catholic authorities and was thrown into prison to await interrogation by the Inquisition. To protect himself from his predatory fellow prisoners, Cervantes recruits them to act out his tale about an elderly country squire who believes he is a gallant knight called Don Quixote.
