MANASSAS, VA, Prince William Hospital is now Novant Health Prince William Medical Center. Novant Health facilities across its four-state footprint unveiled new signage and visual changes as all facilities unite under the organization’s unified system brand name of Novant Health. Additionally, Caton Merchant House, Bull Run Family Practice, and Prince William Surgical Associates have changed as well to Novant Health Caton Merchant House, Novant Health Bull Run Family Medicine and Novant Health Prince William Surgical Associates.
Formed in 1997, Novant Health has grown from four to 13 acute care facilities, more than 100 outpatient facilities and over 350 physician practice facilities in four states.
“We are thrilled to connect the dots today for our patients and communities,” said Melissa Robson. “Today, we unite Novant Health facilities across four states to make it easier for our patients to expect remarkable healthcare at any Novant Health facility and understand the relationship between all our locations—whether it is their physician or local hospital. We want patients to demand the same remarkable patient experience at all Novant Health facilities.”
The strategic branding plan announced in February, 2013 ties to Novant Health’s commitment to reinvent the healthcare experience by making it more convenient, easier to access, and more affordable so patients can focus on getting better and staying healthy.
Journey to remarkable healthcare
Over the past several years, Novant Health has initiated a series of strategic steps to transform the patient experience and deliver remarkable care. Beginning with the Codman Award-winning hand washing campaign in 2005, which focused on the safety of patients and invited them to have a voice in their care, the organization embarked on a concerted effort to create a remarkable patient experience.
Three years later, MRSA infections were down 63%, more than 3,000 hospitals around the world had emulated the program, and patients were clear that they had a voice in their care at Novant Health facilities. Since then, Novant Health has focused on transforming healthcare to create an experience that allows patients to focus on getting better and staying healthy.
More recently, since September 2010, Novant Health facilities have screened all admitted patients for type 2 diabetes. This “search and rescue” program has diagnosed nearly 5,000 people with previously undiagnosed diabetes.
Another step in this strategic plan includes open access for patients. Real-time online appointment scheduling, E-visits, and collaborative patient-clinician care are all part of the unified system strategy.
“Our promise to our employees, patients and communities is to make healthcare remarkable through world-class technology, clinicians, and care – when and where you need it,” said Melissa Robson. “We are reinventing the healthcare experience to be simpler, more convenient, and more affordable, so that you can focus on getting better and staying healthy.”
Visual changes roll-out
New signage was unveiled today at all acute care facilities across the four-state footprint of Novant Health. We displayed new imagery as you enter the campus along with a campus flag. Internally, we turned aubergine with elevator wraps, posters and billboards, café decorations and digital signage. Additionally, we lit up in aubergine to celebrate the changes and will remain lit during evening hours for one month.
Employees gathered internally to celebrate this milestone in Novant Health history and to showcase their commitment to our promise.
