EnviroSolutions, Inc. and Workhouse Community Reach Fundraising Goal of $20,000 in June 2013

workhouse arts centerEnviroSolutions, Inc. (ESI), a locally based environmental firm that operates a major construction debris landfill in Lorton, VA, led a successful effort to raise funds for and public awareness of the Workhouse Arts Center during the month of June. The Workhouse relies on public support to continue offering its programs, classes, exhibitions, performances and community events. ESI created a Challenge Match–challenging the community to support the Workhouse Arts Center. The ESI Challenge Match was a promise from ESI that if the community would give $10,000 to support the Workhouse during the month of June, ESI would match the gifts, up to $10,000. The campaign was titled, “Let’s Get Behind the Workhouse” because ESI’s landfill is literally “behind the Workhouse” and because ESI is one of the Workhouse Arts Center’s major contributors each year. The Workhouse received nearly 100 gifts from the community during the period of the match campaign, ranging in size from $5 to $500, totaling just over $10,100. Together, the Workhouse Community and ESI reached the fundraising goal of $20,000.

Conrad Mehan, Director of Community Affairs for EnviroSolutions (ESI):
EnviroSolutions is truly excited over the overwhelming response to the “Let’s Get Behind the Workhouse” challenge match campaign. The widespread support from so many donors is a true reflection of the investment the community has in the Workhouse. This wonderful response is an affirmation of EnviroSolutions’ partnership role with the community. A big “Thank you to all’ for your contribution.
John Mason, President and CEO of Lorton Arts Foundation:
The Workhouse Arts Center and the Lorton Arts Foundation are very grateful to EnviroSolutions, Inc. The partnership of ESI with the Workhouse on the “Let’s Get Behind the Workhouse” campaign can be a model for the kind of community support that will ensure that the Workhouse will continue to grow and provide quality cultural opportunities for the people of Fairfax County and beyond.
