Seani Moneek McDonald, a twelve-year-old, seventh-grader at Beville Middle School (Dale City) in Prince William County, Virginia, participated as the youngest female high-fashion model in this year’s Annual DC Fashion week. Seani was initially asking to get some behind the scenes experience working at a major fashion show. After showing up for the open-call in August, Seani was picked up by two designers; one for the opening of DC Fashion Week on Monday, September 23rd and the other designer wanted her to close the Week on Sunday, September 29, 2013. In between these two shows, Seani was also a featured model selected for a show on Saturday, September 28th.
Seani is an award-winning honor roll student who is passionate about her future career in the fashion industry. She focuses her learning on her future vocation. As a second year Italian student, she plans to travel to Milan, Italy, to further her studies and her experience in and around the world-renown designers and respective design houses.
As a toddler, and since the first days of elementary school, Seani has been a developing fashionista. Being an avid viewer of “America’s Next Top Model” and “Project Runway”, Seani has been strategically studying the industry and the leaders of the media surrounding fashion. She has started sketching her own designs for her clothing line and will soon begin to sew.
Seani is no stranger to the hard work it is going to take to accomplish her dreams and goals. She has competed in the 2011 National American Miss Pageant, and was a runner-up for Miss Virginia. In 2013, Seani completed the Barbizon Modeling and Talent School and competed for the $25,000.00 college scholarship.
She has continued to meet with agents, photographers, and designers. Even as a free-lance, un-signed model, Seani is getting a great deal of exposure, experience, and engagements.
After completing her middle school International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme, Seani will continue through Gar-Field High School’s IB Programme to earn her diploma. Parsons The New School For Design is Seani’s chosen post-secondary school where she will continue her education.
