Selection Aimed to Further Local Student Participation in Fostering  Expanded Community Understanding of Area Veterans Service

(Manassas, VA-October 24, 2013) The Greater Manassas Veterans Day Parade Committee is pleased to announce the selection of the Osbourn High School (OSH) CenterStage Choir ensemble to sing their electrifying and patriotic rendition of our County’s National Anthem at this year’s Greater Manassas Veterans Day Parade.

The CenterStage Choir — the top choral ensemble in Manassas City Schools– will be joined in representing OHS by the crowd pleasing and returning favorite OSH Marching Band.

Matthew Harrison, OSH Choir Director, said of the CenterStage Choir selection, “Both my grandfathers served in World War II and this opportunity to perform at the Veterans Parade allows us to express our gratitude to all veterans for their service.  I think it is imperative that we celebrate our armed forces because they honor us daily with their selfless sacrifice and performing at the parade allows us to honor them in return.”

The CenterStage Choir group consists of 20 young men and women who, together with the OSH Marching Band, are among the most active music students at OSH.

The parade starts promptly at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 9th , in the heart of Old Town Manassas.  Admission is free and open to the general public. Dedicated handicap seating is provided.
