Willy Wonka, Jr. – Fun for the Whole Family

Contributed by the Center for the Arts

The Center for the Arts’ Pied Piper Theatre opens its 2013-2014 season in November with a rollicking musical production of Willy Wonka, Jr.  Bring the entire family and everyone will go home singing the “Oompa Loompa” song and “Candy Man.”  Forty-six talented young actors from throughout the area join together to bring you the wonderful characters from Roald Dahl’s book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Follow the adventures of five lucky children who win a contest to tour the famous Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory.  Golden Ticket winners, Charlie Bucket, Augustus Gloop, Violet Beauregarde, Veruca Salt, and Mike Teavee meet the eccentric candy maker, Willy Wonka.  Enjoy the tour down the Chocolate River, and through the Candy Inventing Room, the Fizzy Lifting Room, and the Chocolate Dipping Room – and don’t forget to watch for Oompa Loompas!

Willy Wonka, Jr. takes the stage on Saturdays at 7:00pm and Sundays at 4:00pm from November 16 through 24 at Metz Jr. High School in Manassas.  Tickets are $12 for general admission and $10 for children 12 and under.  Tickets are available in advance at www.center-for-the-arts.org, Music & Arts ticket outlets and will also be available at the door.  Group tickets for civic organizations are available by calling the Center for the Arts at (703) 330-ARTS.  Join us for a magical adventure through Willy Wonka’s wonderful candy factory!
