Follow the Yellow Brick Road and join in the adventures of Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion as they sing and dance their way through the Land of Oz to Emerald City.  Once Dorothy makes her way over the rainbow, she and her friends encounter munchkins, witches, jitterbugs, and talking trees.  Will this quartet ever get to see the Wizard of Oz so Dorothy can find her way back to Kansas, the Scarecrow can get a brain, the Tin Man a heart, and the Lion a dose of courage?  Or will the Wicked Witch of the West with her evil cackle and surprising tricks be successful in her attempts to thwart their efforts?

The Center for the Arts’ PIED PIPER THEATRE presents “THE WIZARD OF OZ”, directed by VinceNT Worthington and based on Frank L. Baum’s book.  Enjoy the sounds of a full orchestra playing well-known tunes from the movie, including “Over the Rainbow,” “We’re Off to See the Wizard,” and “If I Only Had a Brain.”  A treat for the entire family, performances will be Saturday, January 25 at 2pm and 7pm and Sunday, January 26 at 4pm at The Hylton Performing Arts Center, 10960 George Mason Circle, Manassas, VA 20109.  General admission tickets are $12 and $10 for children 12 and under.  Tickets may be purchased on-line at www.hyltoncenter.org or by calling 703-993-7550.  Further information and group tickets for organizations such as scout troops, schools, and church groups are available by calling the Center for the Arts at the Candy Factory at 703-330-2787.
