Contributed by GPW Health Center

In less than two weeks, long-term unemployment benefits for 1.3 million Americans will expire. Congress failed to include a necessary extension to provide continued coverage as part of last week’s budget proposal.

Prince William County led Virginia last year with a 3.4% gain in employment, the highest amongst large localities, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

But it’s not just big business that adds to the area’s economic prosperity.  One local non-profit looks to hire 27 positions within the next few months.  The Health Center, currently located at 4379 Ridgewood Center Drive, Suite 102 in Woodbridge will open a second location at Evergreen Terrace on Liberia Avenue in March of 2014.

The Health Center will replicate their health care services at the new location.  Services include Primary, Dental, Behavioral Health, and Prenatal services for the whole family under one roof.

Positions available include; Family Practice Physicians, Obstetrician/Gynecologist, Nurse Practitioners, Dentists, Medical Assistants, Behavioral Health Specialists, Psychiatrist, Office Manager, CFO, HR Manager, and Care Coordinator.  Applicants can find a complete listing of positions and job descriptions by visiting www.GPWHealthCenter.org click on the “About Us” tab and then click on “Careers.”  Some positions require Spanish-speaking applicants.  Interested applicants should submit a resume to[email protected].

The new Center will serve 5,000 new patients in 15,000 encounters in the first year of operations.  The Center will improve many of the existing health disparities like diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, and asthma that exist in the Manassas and Manassas Park areas.

Additional information about the Center may be found at www.GPWHealthCenter.org.  Patients interested in scheduling a medical or dental appointment, please call 703.680.7950.  Please like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.
