Generator Fire in City of Manassas

City of Manassas, VA . . . On Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, one generator at the City’s Godwin Drive power plant caught fire. The fire was immediately contained and quickly extinguished. No staff were hurt. The building sustained minor damage. The City has 31 generators Citywide that provide power dispatched by Dominion Virginia Power during peak electric demand periods. There was no impact to City of Manassas Utility customers.
