(1/27/2014 – Manassas, VA) Leadership Prince William is the recipient of the 2013-2014 Agnes L. Colgan Community Service Award for Arts and Education. The award was presented during the Excellence in Business Awards event hosted by the Prince William Chamber of Commerce.
“We are thrilled to receive this prestigious award, which is a tribute to the efforts of our Board of Regents and our exceptional volunteers,” said Leadership Prince William Executive Director Kathy Bentz. “The Agnes L. Colgan Award recognizes significant achievements by a non-profit organization in our community and we are honored to be this year’s recipient.”
In presenting the award, Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Rob Clapper said, “Leadership Prince William is a community-based leadership program designed to provide a source of diverse leaders who are prepared and committed to serve as catalysts for positive change in the Greater Prince William Area. Their signature program is a 10-month leadership development course. Along the way, they educate participants and alumni and help them to discover the leader within, challenging everything they knew about themselves.”
Leadership Prince William was established seven years ago by its Vision Partner, the Prince William Chamber of Commerce, and by Foundation Partners George Mason University, Micron Technology and Dominion. Leadership Prince William is an independent 501(c) 3 organization with a governing Board of Regents. Its 185 alumni include CEOs, entrepreneurs, elected officials, directors, vice presidents, veterans and dozens of community leaders who shape the communities of Prince William County, City of Manassas and Manassas Park.
