2nd Annual Prom to Benefit the American Red Cross in the National Capital Region wants you to come and relive your prom, AGAIN!

Grab your prom dress and tux and get ready for One Enchanted Evening – 2nd Annual Prom to Benefit the American Red Cross in the National Capital Region at Heritage Hunt Country Club in Gainesville on March 28th from 7-11 p.m.

Last year’s event raised almost $30,000 for the American Red Cross in the National Capital Region.

The idea for a prom, as something fun and different, came to Rebecca Vaughan King, President of Imagine and Chairperson of the American Red Cross Leadership Council for Prince William County last year.  Mrs. Vaughan-King worked with the new leadership in Prince William County for the American Red Cross to identify an alternative event to the Annual Gala.

“An alternative for a long standing traditional event wouldn’t be easy,” says Mrs. Vaughan-King. “I wanted to create an event that was all-inclusive. Then, the idea of a prom hit me; prom is so iconic – and fun – why not recreate that atmosphere and excitement?”

Erwin Stierle of the American Red Cross in the National Capital Region shared his enthusiasm on the upcoming event. “I’m so grateful to the volunteer committee for organizing and hosting this event to benefit your local American Red Cross.  It’s their generous commitment and dedication to our community, as well as the support of the sponsors and attendees of the event, that helps us to fulfill our mission locally.  This event truly makes a difference for the community.”

The energetic committee members donate a huge amount of time to make the prom a success. Members include Jason Shriner, Founder of the Aubergine Chef; Johanna Goossens, Owner of Simplicity Events; Amanda Harper, President of Gaeltek; and Tiffany Suarez, Partner at Freedom Property Management.

The purpose of this year’s event is to raise money in a fun atmosphere, and bring an awareness of what the American Red Cross does for local communities.  The committee is excited to have the opportunity to present this event for a second year and looks forward to continuing this tradition year after year.  If you are interested in event tickets,  donating or in sponsorship opportunities, please email [email protected] or call Sunni at 703-873-7740.
