Arson Fire in School Causes $20,000 in Damage

City-Seal[2]City of Manassas, VA . . . The City of Manassas Office of the Fire Marshal is investigating a fire that happened on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, in a restroom at Metz Middle School at 9950 Wellington Road in Manassas. Fire investigators determined that one or more students intentionally set paper materials on fire in the restroom during school hours, causing an estimated $20,000 in damages.

The Fire Marshal’s office is asking for any information about this fire. Tips can be confidential and left on the 24-hour tip line at 703-330-0330 or by contacting Lt. Hartnett at 703-257-8458 or by email at [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>. Manassas Crime Solvers may pay a cash reward of up to $1000 for information leading to an arrest in this case.
