City of Manassas, VA . . . The City of Manassas has earned the 2013 Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the U.S. and Canada (GFOA) for the twenty-ninth consecutive year. This was given for the City’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report or CAFR. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition given in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. Of the 90,000 state and local government entities eligible for the certificate, only five percent are awarded this achievement.
The City of Manassas also received the Distinguished GFOA Budget Presentation Award for its Annual Operating Budget. This is the ninth consecutive year for the Budget award.
