Spring Cleaning Day: Live Green!

Historic Manassas, IncManassas, VA –Live Green this year at the 7th Annual Spring Cleaning Day with Historic Manassas, Inc. The event takes place on Saturday, April 19th, at the Harris Pavilion and Manassas Museum Lawn from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Start your spring cleaning by donating unused items and shredding personal documents. Several organizations will be ready to accept various items that are usually sent to the landfill such as gently used clothing and household items, eye glasses, and hearing aids. Recycling and environmental information will be available from exhibitors such as Project Mend-A-House, the Manassas Beautification Committee, and Manassas City Schools. The City of Manassas Trash and Recycling Department will be partnering to provide a Shred It truck for people to securely dispose of personal documents for free.

Also, take some time to check in on your personal wellness with various resources at this year’s festival. The Manassas Lions Club will conduct free sight and hearing screenings and Inova will host a blood drive in its Blood Mobile. Novant Health will offer screenings in their Mammography Mobile. Free fitness classes will be on the Manassas Museum Lawn- just come appropriately dressed and get classes by local instructors. BodyVive and Zumba will take place at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., respectively.

Other attractions throughout the day include a demonstration from Food Network featured veggy artist James Parker, kids inflatables and the Manassas Farmer’s Market.
