Manassas Park, Virginia – The Manassas Park Dog Park Committee has entered Manassas Park to win a nationwide $100,000 dog park grant courtesy of Petsafe.
Petsafe, a leading innovator in pet behavior and lifestyle solutions is hosting their third annual “Bark for Your Park” contest. One city will be awarded $100,000 to build a local dog park and four other pet passionate finalists will receive $25,000.
Currently, Manassas Park is in the top 10 for its population category. The first round of voting ends, June 7th. From there, finalists will be determined to move on to the next round which begins June 13th. The Manassas Park Dog Park Committee assists the City of Manassas Park Department of Parks and Recreation in maintaining the Manassas Park Dog Park. The Dog Park Committee will act as an informal liaison between the Parks Department and the dog park users. The Committee assists in the organization and implementation of community-related events, assists in the fundraising for the dog park, helps mitigate conflict and is an arbiter for serious infractions that may cost dogs to be restricted from the park.
