Additional Charges in Malicious Wounding – House Fire

Provided by Prince William Fire & Rescue

On Thursday, July 27th at 4:24 p. m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a structure fire in a single family home located in the 1300 block of East Longview Drive in Woodbridge.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered police officers on scene attending to a woman suffering from stab wounds while additional officers tended to the alleged assailant. As firefighters prepared to make entry into the home, engulfed in smoke, they were informed police officers had entered the home in search of two small children reported still inside; a second alarm was sounded. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. Soon after, firefighters and officers learned the children were safely at a neighbor’s residence
and were unharmed.

The Prince William County Fire Marshal’s Office completed an investigation into the Origin and Cause of the fire and made the subsequent arrest of the suspect already being held on the malicious wounding charges placed by Police.
