Bottle Stop Wine Bar Receives Wine Spectator Magazine Award of Excellence

Provided by Bottle Stop Wine Bar

Bottle Stop Wine Bar, located in Historic Occoquan, announced its selection to Wine Spectator’s 2017 Wine List Awards. The Award of Excellence is granted to restaurants whose wine list typically offers at least 90 selections, features a well-chosen assortment of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in both price and style.
“We’re honored to have been recognized by one of the premier international wine publications for our wine program,” said Bottle Stop owners Emil and Kim Wigode. “Our team has worked tirelessly to develop a diverse, interesting, and approachable wine list that is unique to our area. Wine Spectator’s recognition solidifies our place among the best restaurants and wine bars throughout the DMV despite operating outside the Beltway.”
The complete list of award winners is available online and will be published in the August 31 issue of Wine Spectator (available on newsstands July 18).
Located in the Historic river town of Occoquan, the restaurant/wine bar offers diners a diverse selection of small plates, flat bread pizzas, sliders, seasonal entrees, and cheese & charcuterie boards. Owners Emil and Kim Wigode, in consultation with three in-house sommeliers, select a constantly changing list of small production artisan wines, craft beers and whiskeys to pair with menu items or simply enjoy by the glass or bottle. Every visit is a new culinary and wine adventure. To learn more about Bottle Stop Wine Bar, visit the website at bottlestopva.com.
In 2017, Wine Spectator is honoring 3,592 restaurants—hailing from all 50 states and more than 75 countries—for their outstanding dedication to wine. Restaurant Awards recognize restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers.
