Community Backpack Challenge 2017 Underway

Provided by AJ Team of Keller Williams Realty

AJ Team of Keller Williams Realty announced its Community Backpack Challenge is underway. They are accepting donations of new backpacks pre-filled with school supplies for students in area homeless shelters and local schools. Because one of the team’s Core Values is to “Be A Blessing”, they are working with HomeAid Northern Virginia to collect the backpacks to give students the tools they need to be successful when school starts.

According to information from HomeAid, one in 30 American children experience homelessness each year, with over 35,000 of them in Virginia. While most children are shopping for school supplies this month, others are worrying about where they will sleep at night. The backpack drive is intended to give students one less thing to worry about.

“If you would be so kind to help us bless our community — we have a surprise for you. If you drop off a pre-filled backpack, Frostie Moose [in Woodbridge] has agreed to give out a coupon for FREE ice cream! We love ice cream, but most importantly we love to be a blessing to our community,” said Allen Johnson, AJ Team CEO.

Some of the supplies students need include: composition notebooks (wide-ruled); glue sticks; 24-count crayons; #2 pencils; pencil box; plastic folders; washable markers; bottle of glue; yellow highlighters; large pink erasers; dry erase markers; wide-ruled filler paper; color pencils; pencil sharpener; 1″ binder; 1.5″ binder; blue/black/red pens; and a ruler.

Donations can be dropped off at the Keller Williams Realty office, 4310 Prince William Parkway, Suite 200, Woodbridge, VA 22192 or at Frostie Moose, 12581 Milstead Way, Woodbridge, VA 22192.

According to MLS 2017 figures, the AJ Team is the #1 team in the Woodbridge market. If you need help buying, selling, or investing in real estate, contact #AJTeamRealty at 888-NOVA-BUY, email, [email protected], or visit their website at ajteamrealty.com/.
