The holidays are coming! The holidays are coming! Consider us your courier alerting you to the arrival of the busiest season of the year. Not ready yet? That’s okay. We are!
This year, you don’t have to let the season sneak up on you and bowl you over. Imagine a less stressful and more enjoyable holiday experience. It’s achievable! There’s plenty you can do in advance to allow yourself ample time to sit back, relax and enjoy the holidays with your family and friends. So, let’s get planning!
Holiday Meal Planning
For holiday meals, you have four areas to tackle: the menu, the decorations, the shopping and the actual cooking. It’s easy enough to plan out your menu in advance and create a shopping list. Put on your calendar the dates you would like to have your groceries in your pantry. Then, instead of doing all your grocery shopping, have someone else take care of it, bring the goodies in and put them away for you, neatly! Imagine skipping the pre-holiday grocery store crowds. Feels good just to think about it, doesn’t it? Consider scheduling two or three grocery runs so you can do some baking in advance.
Running Errands and Decorating
While often thought of only for the elite, personal assistants are much more widely used these days. Assistants can run errands for you, like dropping off dry cleaning and picking up prescriptions, leaving you to enjoy decorating. Not into decorating? Get an assistant to do it for you, someone with a flair for the artistic. When the season is over, your assistant can take down the decorations, organize them and put them away for you. Own a business? You’ve got two places to make festive! Let your personal assistant take on your office decor, too.
Gift Shopping and Wrapping
While possibly one of the most fun tasks of the season, shopping for gifts can also be the most exhausting. Running here and there — across town and back — takes a lot of time. See what you can do online instead and search for free shipping deals. If you do venture out to the malls, stop at one of the charity wrapping booths. Your money spent on wrapping will benefit a nonprofit while giving you more time for other tasks. Can’t stand the crowds and lines? Consider having your assistant shop for you and do the wrapping.
You deserve a stress-free and enjoyable holiday season. Weave some of these tips into the pre-season and watch your enjoyment meter rise to new levels. Quality of life begins with a little planning and a little help.
