The Marine Corps Heritage Foundation has extended the deadline for its 37th Annual Awards Program from Jan. 6 to Jan. 12, due to mail delays and transportation impact resulting from the extreme weather. Each year the Foundation presents a series of awards for creative works preserving or advancing Marine Corps history, traditions, culture or service. Marines and civilians are eligible to submit their own artistic entries or the distinguished work of others. It’s free and quick to enter and Award winners receive a $1,000 cash prize, a medallion, and a brick with their name in Semper Fidelis Memorial Park, outside the National Museum of the Marine Corps. For more information and to apply, visit marineheritage.org/awards.html.
Awards will be presented at the Foundation’s annual award ceremony in April 2018 at the National Museum of the Marine Corps. The Annual Awards are presented in 15 categories including journalism, documentary, literature, screenplay, photography and poetry.
