Provided by Community Foundation for Northern Virginia

The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia will present its next Innovation Breakfast Series event on May 10 titled “Changing the Frame on Green Energy,” in partnership with the Northern Virginia Regional Commission.  Registration is $35 and includes a continental breakfast, keynote presentation and panel discussion.

The event’s keynote speaker, Sanjiv Mahan, President, WGL Energy, will present the following: cities and regions around the country are taking local action to promote and grow the scope of green energy.  More jobs, stronger energy security, healthier families, vibrant entrepreneurship, and higher standards of living can all result from a growing green energy sector.  Green energy levels in Virginia fall far below levels in our neighboring states.

Program panelists include Robert Lazaro, Executive Director, Northern Virginia Regional Commission; Ruth Ann Norton, President  & CEO, Green & Healthy Homes Initiative; Karen Schaufeld, Founder, Powered by Facts; and Delegate Rip Sullivan, Virginia State Delegate, 48th District. They will evaluate what role business, local government, and philanthropy have to play to promote sustainable energy sources and what immediate, tangible steps our region can take toward a greener future.

The event will be held from 8:00 – 10:30 a. m. on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at Valo Park, 7950 Jones Branch Drive, McLean.  Visit cfnova.org/innovationbreakfast to register for this event.

The Community Foundation for Northern Virginia hosts The Innovation Breakfast Series to bring a fresh perspective on the challenges and opportunities facing our region and the role that innovation and philanthropy can play in addressing them.
