Penn Elementary Teacher Earns Science Award

Prince William County Public Schools has named LoriAnn Pawlik, fifth-grade teacher from Penn Elementary School, as the winner of the Excellence in Science Teaching Award.

According to Julia Renberg, supervisor of science and family life education, in the nomination, Pawlik was applauded for her passion for science and student learning. “As the STEAM teacher, she engages and inspires students to be explorers, global citizens, and stewards of the Earth,” her nominator shared.

Renberg, Penn Elementary School Principal Dr. Elliot Bolles, and Assistant Principal Margaret Simpson surprised Pawlik with the award while her fifth-grade class was video conferencing with a marine biologist from New York.
