Bull Run Rotary’s Flags for Heroes fundraiser is an annual event that culminates in a visual display of American flags on the Manassas Museum Lawn. When Flags for Heroes was started in 2016, the goal was to create a fundraiser that would support local veterans and first responders.
The event is held around the Veterans Day Parade held in the City of Manassas. Thanks to the generosity of the greater Manassas community, the display has grown each year. And, the Bull Run Rotary has provided much-needed funds to worthy organizations in our area, all of them serving the heroes among us every day. Last year, the Rotary displayed over 150 flags and has a goal of 200 flags this year.
Come out to the Manassas Museum lawn from Nov. 2-11 and see the flags flying proudly in honor of our national and local heroes. Honor your hero by sponsoring a flag with a tax deductible $50 donation. Heroes include but are not limited to veterans and first-responders (past or present). Unsure of who to honor? The Bull Run Rotary can choose a local recipient on your behalf to receive the honor and accompanying certificate.
Proceeds from flag sponsorship benefit local charities and the warrior retreat in Haymarket.
Checks should be made payable to Bull Run Rotary Foundation. Please write Flags for Heroes on the memo line, and give to any Bull Run Rotarian or mail to Bull Run Rotary Club, PO Box 567, Manassas, VA 20108. One check may be written for multiple flag sponsorships at $50 each. Donations are tax-deductible.
