Loyalty Pet Care and Ridge Lake Animal Hospital, with support from The Town of Occoquan and the Occoquan Merchants Guild, will host Haunted Hounds Howl-O-Ween.
The event will be held Sunday, Oct. 28 from 11:00 a. m. to 1:00 p. m. at River Mill Park. From 1:00 to 3:00 p. m., the event will move to participating businesses and restaurants throughout Historic Occoquan. Activities include a canine costume contest and parade, canine trick & treating at participating businesses and after party yappy hours at participating dog friendly restaurants. Ticket sales from this event benefit The Prince William Humane Society in support of initiatives in support to the Prince William County Animal Shelter.
The day kicks off with costumed canines, spectators, and area pet businesses gathering at River Mill Park, 458 Mill Street, at 11:00 a. m. Canines and their owners will parade around the park at 12:00 p. m. with judging and awards presented at 12:30 p. m. Then, from 1:00-3:00 p. m., hard-working fundraisers and their dogs are invited to trick & treat through the town’s dog-friendly unique shops, boutiques, galleries, restaurants, and cafes and experience all that Occoquan has to offer.
Spectators should bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on to watch the show!

Free on-street and public lot parking is available in town. Off-site parking with shuttle bus service sponsored by Patriot Scuba is available from the Route 123 Commuter lot at the intersection of Old Bridge Road and Gordon Boulevard, and drops off at 305 Mill Street. The shuttle service, provided by Earnie Porta’s Occoquan Tourism Company, will collect patrons from the lot on the half hour beginning at 11:00 a. m. through 3:00 p. m. The shuttle is free, but donations to the non-profit Patriots for Disabled Divers are appreciated.
