Prince William Public Library November Highlights

The Prince William Public Library System (PWPLS) offers a number of programs throughout the year for all ages including families, children, teens, and adults. Please visit our website to learn more about all of the events offered for the month.

HOLIDAY CLOSINGS

Saturday, Nov. 10 – all Neighborhood Libraries closed
Sunday & Monday, Nov. 11 & 12 – Veterans Day holiday observed, all libraries closed
Wednesday, Nov. 21 – all libraries close at 3:00 p. m.
Thursday & Friday, Nov. 22 & 23 – Thanksgiving Day holiday, all libraries closed
Saturday, Nov. 24 – all Neighborhood Libraries closed.

PROGRAMS

Encourage the spirit of thankfulness in little ones with an Americana celebration and plenty of Turkey Day storytimes throughout November.
Have tea and snacks with our American Girls (bring your own special dolls, too!). Plus, there will be a big surprise at the end! Registration required. Register in person, by phone, or online.
Join Prince William Public Libraries for National Novel Writing Month events that will inspire you and help you reach your writing goals.
The U.S. Navy Band Clarinet Quartet will entertain Central Library with family-friendly music in different styles ranging from traditional to contemporary. All ages welcome.
Get your holiday shopping done at Montclair Library! Local home, health, and beauty vendors will be selling their products and there will be a raffle.
Experience the magic of model railroads with these room-sized displays from the Prince William and Northern VA NTRAK railroad clubs.
Have you ever seen a live tenrec or degu? Or watched a parrot dance? See these and other awesome animals up close at Chinn Park Library. All ages.

Join Haymarket Gainesville Library for a special celebration of Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights. All ages are welcome.

Enjoy recycling activities, giveaways, and a special storytime with the Prince William County Solid Waste Division for America Recycles Day on Thursday, Nov. 15.
Create a culinary treat based on your favorite book. Everyone can vote on their favorites, and prizes will be awarded for Best in Show, Most Literary, and Wittiest.
Meet author Kerry Molina at Dale City Library as she reads her latest book, Kaci Keeps Going, and presents a lesson and craft on how to keep going. Copies of the book will be available for purchase.
An afternoon of humor and friendship you won’t forget! Mike Hall as Mark Twain and Robert Alexander as industrialist Henry H. Rogers will share their stories at this living history event.
