Alanna M. Mensing has announced she is running for Manassas Park City Council in the Nov. 6 General Election. She is currently a Manassas Park City School District School Board Member and a music teacher.

Mensing is focusing her campaign on education, economic development, and community services. “I want to keep our schools fully supported, create new storefronts on city-owned land, and ensure that our community center remains affordable and accessible for all of our residents here in Manassas Park,” said Mensing. She is also working to make sure lines of communication remain open between elected officials and residents.

Mensing has spent the last two years serving on the Manassas Park City School Board, and is the current Chairwoman for the Bloom’s Crossing Architectural Review Board. She has spoken at several City Council meetings and Homeowner’s Association Board meetings, and attends the meetings of the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority. “I’m eager to serve and learn, and I’m not afraid to speak up,” says Mensing.

Mensing says she is looking forward to the November election, and the opportunity to serve all the residents of Manassas Park.
