Provided by Prince William County Schools (PWCS)
SPARK’s annual “Tee Off for Education” Golf Classic is now in its 26th year. Seasoned golfers, first-time players and volunteers alike came to Old Hickory Golf Club to support public education in Prince William County Schools. The sold-out tournament was sponsored by Moseley Architects and Cintas, along with nearly 40 other sponsors and donors. More than $100,000 was raised, which will directly benefit educational programs throughout the school division.
SPARK is the Education Foundation for Prince William County Schools. It funds and promotes initiatives that enhance educational excellence. The golf tournament proceeds will fund the Innovative Grants Program, which directly and measurably contributes to student achievement. Grants in amounts up to $5,000 are awarded to educators and are reviewed monthly by a panel of educators and business leaders in the community.
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Steven Walts congratulated and thanked all sponsors for their generosity and dedication at the banquet ceremony. Zuzana Steen, President of SPARK, was also in attendance to thank sponsors and participants.
The SPARK Board of Directors expresses its gratitude to Old Hickory Golf Club staff, East-West Embroidery, donors of the raffle items, and tournament volunteers.
