Fly Fishing ONLY by Kathleen Best Gillmann
During our July monthly Opening Reception at Arches Gallery, Workhouse Arts Center, our numerous visitors selected their favorite works of art now on display. The Arches Gallery Artists are pleased to announce the following awards: First Place goes to Kathleen Best Gillmann for “Fly Fishing ONLY!” (oil on canvas) currently in her solo show in the front of our gallery. The voting resulted in a tie for Second Place: Sandra McClelland Lewin’s “Summertime” (acrylic on canvas) tied with Ms. Gillmann’s “Cascade” (soft pastel on paper).

Additionally, the following artists received Honorable Mentions for their works: Karen Chin for “Dandelions,” Rene Vincit for “Lost Boy,” Kathy Strauss for “Kosmo” and Kathleen Best Gillmann for four additional paintings: “Edge of the Jetty,” “Way back to Ketchum,” “Embracing Splendor,” and “Early Autumn Evening.”
The entire July art exhibit including these works may be viewed in Arches Gallery until Sunday, August 6. The Gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday (Wed-Fri 11:00 a. m.-6:00 p. m., Sat. 11:00 a. m.-7:00 p. m., Sun. 12:00 noon-5:00 p. m.) and located at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton.
