Attention Dumfries Residents: Comfort Station Opens Today!

With temperatures and the heat index reaching triple digits, the Town of Dumfries announces the opening of a Comfort Station to provide relief for residents during this period of extreme heat. Conveniently located within the Jeff Simpson Community Center at 17757 Main Street, the Comfort Station will open from 2 to 9 p.m. June 19 through July 19.

Location and Hours:

Jeff Simpson Community Center 17757 Main Street, Dumfries, open Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The Jeff Simpson Community Center will provide cool water for those seeking respite from the heat. To
ensure everyone’s safety, food and pets (except service animals) are prohibited inside the facility.

“The Comfort Station is more than just a place to cool off. It’s a safe haven from the scorching heat where
our community can find relief, cool down, and enjoy a refreshing drink of cold water,” said Tangela Innis,
Town of Dumfries, Town Manager. “We welcome all Town residents to utilize this facility during these
challenging times.”
