PWCS is making literacy a year-round priority. LitCamp is a summer literacy program that aims to prevent the “summer slide”—the loss of academic skills that occurs during the summer. The program helps students strengthen their literacy skills and confidence while school is out.
To celebrate the close of the three-week program for K–8 students in collaboration with Scholastic, LitCamp creator and nationally-renowned literacy expert and author Pam Allyn will visit Ellis Elementary School on July 25 to meet students and host a fun, interactive read-aloud.
