The Prince William Board of County Supervisors landscaping and enhancement project on Ridgefield Road in the Neabsco Magisterial District is planted and the flowers are in bloom.

Neabsco District Supervisor Victor Angry spoke at the recent ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially recognize the work that was a partnership between the county’s Department of Public Works Neighborhood Services Division and the Virginia Department of Transportation, which authorized the work in its right-of-way.

“It’s through our united efforts that we have brought this vision to life,” Angry said. “This moment marks a significant milestone in our community’s journey toward a more beautiful, sustainable and welcoming environment. Ridgefield Road is a vital roadway in our district; and with this project, we are transforming it into an attractive space for all of our residents to enjoy.”

Khattab Shammout, the county’s acting director of Public Works, thanked the Board of County Supervisors for the funding to complete beautification projects in all of the county’s seven magisterial districts.

“The board provided about half a million dollars to fund several landscaping projects throughout the county… This is a beautiful project,” Shammout said. “Thank you to the board for allowing us the opportunity to beautify and make the community nicer and more scenic.”

Angry said the landscaping project meets the board’s goals of beautifying the county to instill a sense of pride and community that contribute to the appeal of the county.

“This project is a testimony of our community’s dedication and hard work. It reflects our collective commitment to improving the quality of life for all residents, fostering a sense of pride and ownership within our neighborhood,” Angry said.

The Board allocated money for the beautification projects across the county in its Fiscal Year 2024 budget.
