UPDATE: Many in our community, including seniors, families with formula-fed infants, and residents who are medically fragile, depend on reliable access to safe, clean water and may not be able to easily wait for or rely on boiled water during this time.
Earlier today, Supervisor Vega distributed cases of bottled water to residents in both neighborhoods to help families during this disruption and saw that official notices were posted on impacted homes in both English and Spanish, and that electronic message signs are in place throughout the affected areas.
Thank you to both HOA Presidents, Corris and Steve, for your hospitality and assistance in coordinating water distribution!
There was a valve break in a Virginia American Water distribution line last night, water service to parts of our district was disrupted. Service was restored around 1 a.m., and crews are now flushing the lines and conducting required water quality testing. Out of caution, Prince William Water has placed the affected areas under a boil water advisory.
Prince William Water will notify affected residents through their automated system when the advisory is lifted, and a cancellation notice is issued.
Original Post: Due to a water supply disruption, Prince William Water has issued a 48-hour boil water advisory for the Carters Grove subdivision and Hoadly Manor Estates.
Supervisor Vega has already reached out directly to Prince William Water to get additional information on what caused the disruption, what steps are being taken to restore full service, and how residents will be notified when the advisory is lifted.
In the meantime, please follow all recommended safety actions to ensure your water is safe for drinking, cooking, and brushing teeth during this advisory period.
