Provided by Prince William Food Rescue
There was an incredible response to the Build-A-Box contests Prince William Food Rescue held during November and December. Food insecurity in Prince William County has continually increased over the course of this year. Volunteers have built over 20,000 boxes of non-perishable food items that have helped families make it through a tough holiday season.
The Build-A-Box program will continue into the new year. Prince William Food Rescue is looking for volunteers who have a few hours during the morning or afternoon to help build and pack boxes of non-perishables. Teams of five to ten people are encouraged, and individuals or smaller groups are welcome as well! Children may be included in your group (preferably age 7 and up), but they must be supervised by an adult at all times. Sign up here.
