The Prince William County Community Foundation (PWCCF) was named a top 200 finalist to receive a $25,000 grant award from State Farm. Thousands of applicants nationwide competed for the award. The finalists were selected based on a lengthy award application and the organization’s alignment with State Farm’s focus on three areas: safety, education, and community development. The selection period lasts for 10 days and includes public outreach and community voting.

The official statement from Prince William Community Foundation: “We’re extremely excited and grateful to be selected as a finalist by State Farm. We have been working diligently since the inception of our Foundation. Our mission for our C.H.O.W. Wagon Initiative is to help end hunger in our local community. A $25,000 award would mean the opportunity to expand our C.H.O.W. Wagon services to more communities, as well as help feed approximately 10,000 children and families. We’re extremely thrilled to be selected and excited to engage Prince William County to vote for us to move to the final round.”

PWCCF is a Woodbridge-based volunteer-led organization founded in 2018. The Foundation is committed to sustaining healthy and vital Prince William County (PWC) communities. The Foundation’s objective is to help build healthy communities where we promote social, environmental, and economic health through various initiatives for the residents of Prince William County. PWCCF’s most notable program is the Combating Hunger on Wheels (C.H.O.W.) Wagon Initiative . The C.H.O.W. Wagon partners with Prince William County Schools, Prince William Food Rescue, and other private and community resources to provide food to children and families weekly. Since March 2020, the C.H.O.W. Wagon has distributed over 35,000 meals and fed approximately 4,400 families.
