Prince William Trails and Streams Coalition
Prince William Trails and Streams Coalition is looking for volunteers to help with the Fall Trash Cleanup in Lake Ridge. The cleanup will take place on Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon (rain date Oct. 3), at the commuter lot and nearby stormwater ponds in the Lake Ridge area. Prince William Soil & Water Conservation District representatives will be on-site to coordinate the cleanup, and trash bags, litter grabbers, and gloves will be provided. Volunteer Teacher or Teaching Aide
Join Grace United Methodist Church as a Volunteer Teacher or Teaching Aide (TA) for their Fall Semester ESL program. Classes are held on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m. Volunteers can choose one day out of the week to help English learners improve their reading, writing, and speaking skills. Help Lucky Dog Animal Rescue find a Lucky dog a forever home!
The animal rescue is looking for volunteers to assist with adoption events held on Sundays, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., at various locations. Adoption events coming up:
- PetSmart in Alexandria, Va,—Oct. 4
- PetSmart in Rockville, Md.—Oct. 11
The final day to sign up for any event is the Friday before that specific event date. Volunteers must be at least 7 years old. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Casa Chirilagua
Casa Chirilagua is a community of people working alongside families and their children to provide support through their community programs. The organization is looking for volunteers for their after-school programs. Responsibilities can vary within the program. Some include being a reading buddy, assisting with homework, team building activities and helping at off-site trips.
