CASA Children’s Intervention Services (CASA CIS) would like to announce the retirement of long-time Board of Trustees President, Josie Geiger, who has served as the leader of the organization for over five years. While Ms. Geiger is retiring from the board, she will continue to be involved with CASA in a number of capacities.

Josie leaves behind a legacy of heart and hard work, along with a history of financial support and stewardship that has allowed the organization to re-establish its reserves, and to raise record amounts of revenue through its signature event, Evening Under the Stars.  In 2017, the event raised almost $200,000 to support the abused and neglected children of Prince William, Fauquier, Rappahannock and Warren Counties.

Stepping into the role of Board President is Jason Hickman, Managing Member of the Woodbridge-based law firm of Compton and Duling.  A long-time resident of Prince William County, Jason brings years of non-profit board leadership experience to his new role at CASA, where his initial focus was on developing an aggressive three-year strategic plan.

Assisting in that effort are new board members John Frisch (Alliant Wealth Advisors), Judy Wine (VP of Wine Energy), Brad Marshall (PWC Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney), Sheyna Burt (Burt Law, LLC), Kathy Bentz (Community Relations and Outreach Manager at Prince William Service Authority), and Sean Porter (Loveless Porter Architects, LLC), along with existing board members Vicki Cloud (Principal Broker, EXIT Realty PROS), Patrick King (Owner, Imagine), Mike Powell (TD Bank, VP/Regional Development Services Manager), and Rob Wise (President, SERVPRO of Northern Prince William County).

The group also recently welcomed to the board Jack Ledden, former Deputy Director of Family Services for the Commonwealth of Virginia, and current Director of Fauquier County Department of Social Services.  The addition of Mr. Ledden underscores CASA CIS’s commitment to building stronger partnerships with stakeholders throughout the community, and to collaborate with all organizations working to see that children in crisis find the safe, permanent loving homes they deserve.
