Without public transit drivers — during the pandemic and beyond — our community wouldn’t be the same.
That’s why on March 18, 2021, OmniRide and all of Prince William County will be celebrating Transit Driver Appreciation Day, an annual event dedicated to celebrating the public service of public transit vehicle operators.
With COVID-19 impacting the region, dedicated bus operators have been vital in providing critical transportation services, especially for essential workers. These incredible drivers have been responsible for getting doctors, nurses, grocery store employees, and restaurant workers to work so they can continue to save lives. Every day, despite these difficult circumstances, OmniRide’s bus operators show up to serve their community.
We do not take their services for granted, from rigorous daily cleaning of buses and facilities and encouraging riders to maintain social distancing. So OmniRide wants to publicly thank their hard-working bus drivers for providing reliable, safe, and efficient transportation. Here are a few creative ways you can celebrate your transit driver on March 18!
Make a Sign
A lovely way to thank a transit operator is to create a sign with a positive message and to put it in your front yard or window. This is sure to make someone’s commute brighter and let them know what they mean to the community!
Share a Message on Social Media
Connecting online has become even more important than ever, especially since the world is practicing social distancing. Writing a message on social media is a great way to thank frontline workers by tagging people or organizations you know, or using hashtags.
Say “Thank You”
One of the simplest and most impactful ways to show gratitude is to say “Thank you for all that you do” when you hop on board. A little love goes a long way.
OmniRide first providers, we appreciate you and we salute you. Thank you for all that you do — today and every day!
Thank You to All OmniRide Staff
In addition to bus operators, OmniRide wants to thank all of their frontline staff. OmniRide understands that even in a pandemic, reliable transit service is vital to the community. Nobody at OmniRide understands that more than the outstanding bus operators, dispatchers, mechanics, security and other frontline operations staff. OmniRide wants to publicly thank them for their dedication to keeping services on the road.
