Chapel Springs Church is looking for a Special Needs Ministry Coordinator. Reporting to the Children’s Pastor, the Special Needs Ministry Coordinator will develop and lead the Special Needs Ministry of Chapel Springs Church, which will effectively provide a safe and loving environment for individuals with special needs from ages 0 through adult. They will supply individuals with a safe and loving environment that will provide support, based upon their unique strengths and needs, to allow for spiritual development through the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Duties:

Develop an effective special needs ministry for individuals at Chapel Springs, birth through adult
Clearly communicate a vision for the special needs ministry
Oversee the intake of all new families to determine proper placement into the appropriate class or program
Develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure the safety of students and staff
Recruit and develop a network of teachers, leaders, mentors, and buddies who will disciple students with disabilities toward spiritual maturity in various settings
Coordinate the curriculum needs for the various ministries in special needs
Coordinate and facilitate leader and worker training
Oversee the administrative functions of the ministry
Develop and maintain a ministry budget

Basic Qualifications

Ability to effectively interact with staff regarding areas of responsibility
College graduate, preferably with special needs education or equivalent experience in a special needs setting
Good organizational and interpersonal skills
Knowledge and understanding of individuals with special needs and their families within the culture of Chapel Springs
Willingness to work in a team environment, develop the ministry, and address the special needs of individuals, birth through adult
