China ATW Flight 1

On Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016 at about 11:00 a. m., Dr. Bo Zhang landed at the Manassas Regional Airport on his historic around the world flight.  This is the first around the world flight beginning and ending in China in a single engine aircraft.  He began his trip in Beijing 12 days ago.  He will make 49 stops as he circumnavigates the globe passing more than 20 countries.

He was greeted by a percussion band, embassy officials and others at the Manassas Regional Airport on Saturday.  Zhang hopes to finish the trip in under two months’ time.

This is the second single engine around the world flight to land at Manassas Regional Airport this year.  In June, Adrian Eichhorn finished his single engine solo trip around the world at the Manassas Airport.
