Pat Collins, PWC Emergency Manager, with members of the Chinese delegation.
On Wednesday, August 17, a delegation of public safety officials from China met with the county’s Emergency Services Manager Pat Collins to share best practices about Emergency Operations Centers.
The briefing included information on county demographics and the county’s Emergency Management program. After the presentation, delegation members shared some of their experiences with Pat; it was a great exchange of information. This is the second delegation from China we have hosted.
The delegation, sponsored by the Beijing Foreign Affairs Office, consists of 23 members from different aspects of Beijing City, the capital of China. The goal of this government-sponsored program is to enhance the capability and skills of emergency professionals, in the public and private sector, concerning emergency and risk management. Beijing, an international city, is facing ever-increasing challenges, internationally and domestically, with hazards such as floods, chemicals, and terrorist attacks.
