Two City of Manassas Fire & Rescue Graduate from NVFR Leadership Development Institute

Manassas LogoCity of Manassas, VA . . . On Friday, June 28, 2013, two City of Manassas Fire & Rescue Personnel graduated from the Northern Virginia Fire & Rescue Leadership Development Institute held at George Mason University. Lt. Jason Bowers and Master Technician Karl Sampson attended this week long program on the George MasonUniversity Manassas Campus along with 46 other front line supervisors throughout Northern Virginia.

The Leadership Development Institute provides dynamic, cutting-edge leadership training that strengthens the efforts of the region’s fire departments to prevent and reduce death, injury and property loss from both fire and medical emergencies. The program features speakers from around the country; recognized experts in both leadership and leadership development. The curriculum is a combination of high-level academic learning and intensepractical training. This provides the student with a better understanding of what it means to be a leader in emergency services.

A formal graduation ceremony was held on Friday, June 28. The LDI is sponsored by the Northern Virginia Fire Chiefs who represent all of the fire and rescue departments of the Northern Virginia region.
