City of Manassas, VA. – The City of Manassas has been awarded the Gold Hermes Award for the City’s website from the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. This is an international competition for creative professionals involved in the concept, writing and design of traditional materials and programs, and emerging technologies.

There were more than 5,600 entrees for the 2013 competition of which 19 percent received the gold award. The Gold Award is presented to those entries judged to exceed the high standards of the industry norm. Judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talents exceed a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.

The City of Manassas website was redesigned and launched in February of 2013. City staff worked with the design team at Civic Plus to make the website more user friendly, more transparent and easier to navigate.

“The City of Manassas website is a great communications tool for City residents,” said City Manager John A. Budesky. “We are honored to be the recipients of this award.”
