On Monday, February 20th at 2:30 p. m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to a townhouse fire located in the 7400 block of Colton Lane in Manassas. Upon arrival, fire and rescue crews observed fire in the rear of the two-story mid-row townhouse. Firefighters quickly suppressed and extinguished the fire. No injuries reported.
The family, home at the time of the fire, were alerted to the fire by the incessant barking of neighborhood dogs. A Building Official has posted the home unsafe. Red Cross was on scene to assist the family, four adults, one child and one dog, displaced by the fire. According to the Fire Marshal’s Office, preliminary damages are estimated at $75,000. The fire originated in the area of the electrical meter on the rear of the home.
