Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (VA-10) issued the following statement after WMATA reported 20 managers, seven of whom were considered senior, were terminated:
“Today’s actions are serious, welcomed, and much-needed. This is a strong demonstration of the accountability that the new general manager has promised. I hope this is just the beginning of the cultural change needed at Metro—change that puts safety and reliability first and demands a customer service mentality from all employees. I look forward to our hearing next week where we will continue our important oversight efforts.”
