Congresswoman Barbara Comstock
Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (R-VA) released the following statement after the House overrode President Obama’s veto of the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA):
“President Obama’s veto of the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA) was soundly defeated today by both the House and Senate. Now, victims of terrorist attacks and their families will have the legal mechanism to sue foreign nations if an agent or that foreign government played a part in an act of international terrorism. With this override of President Obama’s veto, it is simple justice that Congress stands with the victims of terrorism.”
