CARRIED TO FULL TERM’S inaugural fundraising event, Life is a Gift, will be held Friday, December 2, 2016 from 6:00 p. m. to 10:00 p. m. at the Stonewall Golf Club in Gainesville and will feature Congresswoman Barbara Comstock as their featured speaker. Life is a Gift is our major annual fundraising drive and this year’s sold out festivities include a reception, silent auction, dinner, dancing, speakers and more. All proceeds will benefit CARRIED TO FULL TERM (CTFT). CTFT does not receive funding from outside agencies and that is why the community’s support is necessary.
CTFT is a nonprofit organization caring for women in need and the brainchild of Executive Director, Frances Robin. CTFT focuses on preparing expectant mothers to live independently. On November 1st they welcomed their first mom into the house.
Congresswoman Barbara Comstock was elected in November of 2014 to represent Virginia’s 10th Congressional District (which includes Loudoun County, Clarke County, Frederick County, and parts of Fairfax County and Prince William County as well as the Cities of Winchester, Manassas Park, and Manassas City). The Congresswoman currently serves on the Transportation & Infrastructure Committee, the Science, Space & Technology Committee, where she serves as Chairwoman of the Subcommittee on Research and Technology, and the House Administration Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Barbara served first as a senior aide in the 1990s to Virginia Congressman Frank R. Wolf, who represented Virginia’s 10th Congressional District. After working in Congressman Wolf’s office, Barbara was recruited to serve on the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee, where she became Chief Counsel and led hearings and oversight of investigations into waste, fraud and abuse.
Congresswoman Comstock graduated from Georgetown University Law Center and Middlebury College with a B.A. in Political Science.
