Congresswoman Barbara Comstock (VA-10) released the following statement after the terrorist attacks that occurred at the Ataturk airport in Istanbul, Turkey last night:

“The coordinated terrorist attacks at the Ataturk airport in Turkey last night are a stark reminder of the heightened terrorist threat level we live in.  These latest cowardly acts of terrorism, likely orchestrated by ISIS, show that ISIS continues to plot deadly attacks outside of their controlled territory using a variety of means of assault. The reality is that our way of life and our safety and security are under constant threat. We must be on offense against the terrorist enemy by using all of the available tools within our national security, anti-terrorism, law enforcement and defense systems to stop terrorists before they attack here or abroad.  This will also require coordination with our allies and strong coordination with our state and local law enforcement to protect the safety and security of Americans by being aware of the threats and intercept and stop them.  We must win this battle against terrorism. If you have a family member or friends in Turkey who are U.S. citizens, the State Department has activated a hotline and you can call 1-888-407-4747 if you are in the U.S. and 1-202-501-4444 if you are overseas.”
