PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VIRGINIA . . . The Prince William County Department of Social Services (DSS) is now accepting applications for the annual Cooling Assistance Program. The program assists low-income County residents with the purchase or repair of cooling equipment and/or payment for electricity to operate cooling equipment.
To qualify for the program, income criteria must be met and there must be an elderly person, disabled person or a child under age six living in the home. Applications will be accepted through August 15, 2013.
Applications are online at www.commonhelp.virginia.gov. Applications are also available from the DSS offices in the Dr. A.J. Ferlazzo Building, 15941 Donald Curtis Drive in Woodbridge and the Sudley North Government Center, 7987 Ashton Avenue in Manassas.
